April Foodie Penpals

Good Morning and welcome to another edition of Foodie Penpals.  I’m so excited to take part in this monthly party (yes, foodie penpals is definitely worth party status in my book) orchestrated by Lindsay at The Lean Green Bean

This month I received my box from Jamie at Bmore Jams.  When we received our match up e-mail this month I was so excited to find out that I was paired up with a fellow Tone It Up girl.  I instantly knew this month’s box was going to ROCK.

Let’s take a look at what she sent.

As soon as I ripped open the box I saw blue and white stripes and knew exactly what was in there, Peanut Butter & Co peanut butter (if you live in the NYC area and haven’t been to their shop, GO!).  I may have let out a little squeal :).  Not only did Jamie get me my favorite brand of peanut butter, she also got two flavors I rarely let myself have – Cinnamon Raisin Swirl and Dark Chocolate Dreams.  And as if things couldn’t get any better, she also included a new couple recipes.  And here I was thinking the only way to eat these two flavors was with a spoon out of the jar ;)

Jamie also included a bag of Farro, which was new to me.  Farro is a type of grain that can be used for oatmeal, a side dish or even salad.  Seeing as though this was new to me, she also included a recipe for me to try, Toasted Farro Summer Salad.

Lastly, but certainly not least, my box contained an assortment of spring flavored teas.  Celestial is my favorite brand of tea and again I can’t wait to try these new flavors – maybe I’ll find a new favorite blend.  And the fact that they are caffeine free means I can try them out this week while on the 5 day slim down – woohoo!

HUGE thanks to Jamie for an amazing Foodie Penpals box! Jamie, you were SPOT ON with everything.  THANK YOU!

Oh and head over to Blogitness to see what I sent Michelle this month :)

If you aren’t already participating in Foodie Penpals, but would like to here are a few details…

—————————————

And now it’s time for some details about Foodie Penpals. In case you’re a new reader, here’s a reminder of what the program is all about:

-On the 5th of every month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.

-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!

-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!

-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)

-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.

-Foodie Penplas is open to US & Canadian residents. Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa. So, I’m going to keep two separate lists and match US w/ US and Canada w/ Canada!
