I seriously can’t believe that July is OVER. I mean where has the time gone. I haven’t even gotten myself to the beach yet. I guess I should work on that, huh?! On the other hand I am loving the “fall” night weather we’ve been having in NE. I can finally breathe with my windows open and enjoy the lite breeze coming through!
Okay, back to what today is all about – REVEAL DAY!
This month I received my package from Angela over at Happy Fit Mama. I LOVED everything about this package, right down to the wrapping! It’s so nice when you get a package that is wrapped just like a present. It makes whatever inside even more exciting.
Let’s see what Angela picked out for me.
Tazo Passion Iced Tea - I had no idea you could purchase this in iced tea form. I’ve had it at Starbucks, but am loving the fact that I now be my own barista :). I’m not going to lie, I made a batch the day I got it and loved every single SIP!
Peanut Butter and Co - Okay, so maybe my foodie penpals have picked up on my peanut butter addiction! I mean remember this month, and this month… Do you notice a trend? I promised myself I wasn’t just going to eat this one with a spoon, but try it in a recipe. I think I found the perfect one and plan to share once I get around to trying it out!
Dried Strawberries - Let’s just say these didn’t last the even 24 hours. I put them in my oatmeal and salad the day after they arrived. They were the perfect addition and I will definitely be picking some up next time I go to Target.
Quinoa and Brown Rice - I absolutely LOVE this combination and can’t wat to give it a try. It is perfect for that quick meal and looks like it would pair nicely with any type of protein.
Vegetable Korma – I’m actually a bit intrigued by this. I’ve never eaten in an Indian restaurant and the closest I’ve come to curry is sprinkling it on my tempeh.
Head on over to Full Time Wife Life to see what I sent Abby and Isabella. I had SOO much fun putting together their package this month and think I did a pretty good job ;)
Can’t wait for next month’s list to come out!

And now it’s time for some details about Foodie Penpals. In case you’re a new reader, here’s a reminder of what the program is all about:
-On the 5th of every month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
-Foodie Penplas is open to US & Canadian residents. Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa. So, I’m going to keep two separate lists and match US w/ US and Canada w/ Canada!
